We are looking for a Part-time Bookkeeper/Billing Specialist to join our growing organization as a member of the company’s accounting team.
The role includes assisting with billing functions, bookkeeping and other administrative duties. This is an onsite position in our Hunt Valley, MD office, with an opportunity for hybrid work once fully trained and proven for independent work management. We help plan sponsors establish and maintain the best retirement plan(s) to meet their goals and objectives in collaboration with their financial advisors and CPAs.
Since 1970, we have built our reputation as one of the area’s premier Third-Party Administrators by diligently serving our clients in the Greater Baltimore, Washington, and Maryland/Delaware Eastern Shore communities with high-level technical expertise and our commitment to service. We currently service over 1100 retirement plans with a staff of 28 consultants, administrators, and actuaries. Our clients range from one-person Solo(k) and Defined Benefit (DB) Plans to 401(k) plans of all sizes, combo 401(k) and Cash Balance arrangements, and large, frozen DB Plans.
**This is a part-time role in our Hunt Valley, MD office working ~20 hours a week**
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing invoices
- Assist with maintenance of the Company’s financials, specifically accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
- Record routine journal entries into the general ledger
- Prepare routine reports to help manage accounts receivable and payable
- Assist with special projects and perform other functions as assigned
Job Requirements:
- 1-3 years and/or an internship experience with an accounting-related position
- Experience with Sage or other accounting software is a plus
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills with the ability to learn new systems
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with a strong customer orientation
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to work both with a team and independently
