Lucas Systems – an established (26-year-old) provider of warehouse optimization software - is looking to drive hypergrowth in the UK & Europe over the next several years. To that end, we have built a super-charged inbound/outbound lead generation and business development function – we need a hungry Business Development Representative to come aboard and help drive it! 

What you will do: 


The primary responsibility for this key role is outbound lead generation and appointment setting using a variety of channels including email, phone and social media. The right individual will learn our business and develop their sales skills by working with a team of seasoned solutions and sales executives. Successful Business Development Representatives have the opportunity for advancement into Business Development Executive or Account Manager roles. Specific duties include:

  • Perform research to identify and target prospective companies and contacts using tools such as LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, etc.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop prospecting campaigns based on target verticals identified by sales and marketing leadership.
  • Prospect highly qualified leads via phone, email, and LinkedIn with a goal of setting meetings for Lucas Business Development Executives with qualified prospects.
  • Follow up on leads from marketing, including trade shows, web inquiries, etc. with a goal of setting meetings for Lucas Business Development Executives with qualified prospects.
  • Nurture target prospects as they research and investigate warehouse automation alternative vendors..
  • Participate in select sales calls to add value and grow your knowledge of the business.
  • Attend trade shows and other industry events (2-3 per year).
  • Support local tradeshows by liasing with Corporate marketing on show preparation, content, budget tracking, and booth set up.
  • Track and report on lead development activity such as number of email outreaches, LinkedIn connects, and first time appointments.
