The Program Manager will oversee and drive delivery work for our clients through management of large projects, continuous communication, planning, and organization. The primary functions of this position include project and program management. This position requires the ability to create solution delivery plans and execute them in partnership with our client’s senior operations, compliance, technical, and executive management which address their business requirements. This role manages Projects to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality.

The responsibilities of this position include delivery of expected value to the customer, achievement of sustained profitability, and positioning of Nerdery for additional follow-on business.

Responsibilities/Duties


  • Responsible for the delivery plans and driving the work and outcomes for our clients’ projects working with and managing cross functional teams
  • Oversees and drives the day-to-day scope and quality of client projects and deliverables directly or through a team of Project Managers
  • Estimates & defines delivery approach for large programs encompassing all Nerdery disciplines including resource planning and forecasting of hiring needs.
  • Proactively identifies and solves technical issues independently or provides relevant technical area lead and program management support
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining internal processes around Nerdery management systems (OpenAir, JIRA, Confluence, etc.) and resource management.
  • Responsible for managing Delivery Financials (Service time, Underburn and Delivered as Margin) for their projects.
  • Actively advise and build relationships with our day-to-day client stakeholders.
  • Actively develop an understanding of Nerdery capabilities and services as well as working with other practices to drive forward overall ways-of-working.
  • Share client insights with leaders across practices to influence and help shape capability refinement and development.
  • Support Strategic Account Managers to shape engagements and delivery strategies to optimize the businesses profit efficiency while delivering on client outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide direct reports, including overseeing new employee onboarding, performance management, and providing career development planning and opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications 


  • Bachelors in related field; or equivalent experience required
  • 6+ years of experience in Program/Project Management required
  • 2+ years experience working in consulting/agency/client based environments
  • Ability execute on as well as create and motivate a team around growth and client outcomes
  • Ability to facilitate difficult delivery and impacts conversations with day-to-day client stakeholders
  • Experience establishing an accountable, performance driven culture.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • Results oriented mindset - holds themselves accountable for short and long-term success
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies and user experience methodologies
  • Strong oral, written, problem-solving, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong background of operational and financial rigor and excellence
  • Experience and familiarity working with mid level client stakeholders (Director and above)
  • Experience managing a portfolio of multiple parallel projects with diverse stakeholders
  • Understanding of high-level client business processes, goals, and modes of operation
