What You’ll Do
As a W2 hourly employee at Burwood, the Site Implementation Engineer will work alongside Field Service Technicians and coordinate with our Lead Field Services Technicians to provide on-site support for our clients, ensuring seamless implementation and configuration of network and server infrastructure. This role requires strong project leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to support on-site teams effectively.In this role, the Site Implementation Engineer has the following responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
- Lead complex technical projects, coordinating with both on-site technicians and remote teams
- Organize and communicate project plans, updates, and issues effectively
- Function as central point of contact to communicate updates and progress to key stakeholders
K
ey Technical Skills:
- Manage virtualized server hosts; ESXi expertise preferred
- Configure and manage routers, switches, access points, and VLAN segmentation; Velocloud, and Aruba Central expertise preferred
- Set up and configure virtualized servers, remote desktop services, centralized DHCP, and AD management
- Experience with Medical PIMS platforms is a plus
- Implement and manage Remote Desktop Hosts and Thin Client workstation architecture
- Perform server backup and recovery processes
- Adapt to specialized hardware and software like X-ray, Dental, and other clinical modalities, coordinating with hardware and software vendors as needed via phone and remote control apps
Documentation and Post-Implementation Testing:
- Inventory and prepare network equipment for cutovers
- Configure and test network components (routers, switches, APs)
- Reconfigure and test workstations, servers, and peripherals
- Perform functional and validation testing of all reconfigured devices
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Tier 2/3 level help desk support during HyperCare (post cutover support)
- Perform technical troubleshooting and remote support using tools like Kaseya
General Requirements:
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Aruba) is preferred

- You have expertise in virtualized server host management
- You are proficient in configuring and managing network equipment
- You have skills in setting up and configuring virtualized servers and remote desktop services
- You have experience with system setup, data backup, and recovery processes
- You can quickly adapt to unique hardware challenges
- You are detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- You are comfortable interacting and presenting in front of customers
- You are able to build strong relationships and mentor colleagues
- You are able to manage your travel plans independently (hotel, airfare, rental car, etc.)
- You are willing to frequently work nights and weekends to facilitate site cutovers
- You are flexible to support short notice schedule changes and scheduling complexities
The Tech Stuff
Server Virtualization:
- Manage virtualized server hosts with ESXi and Hyper-V
- Deploy new virtualized servers via OVA/OVF templates, managed centralized DHCP, troubleshoot AD identity/access, and implement terminal Remote Desktop Services
Network Administration:
- Configure and manage routers, switches, access points, VLAN segmentation, and firewall rules
- Preferred expertise in Cradlepoint, Velocloud, and Aruba Central
System Setup and Support:
- Implement and manage Remote Desktop Hosts and Thin Client architecture
- Adapt to specialized hardware such as X-ray, Dental, and clinical modalities, coordinating with vendors. Identify solutions when documentation is not readily available
