Overview:


Dynanet Corporation is seeking a skilled IT Privacy Officer that will work directly with Sr. level stakeholders at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  As a Data Privacy Officer, you will utilize business knowledge in combination with skills to monitor, detect, identify, analyze, evaluate, report and assist in the response of data privacy and protection. In your role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project management and agile development to accomplish your day-to-day responsibilities.

Proven experience and knowledge in data privacy regulations and ability to interpret and apply them to the U.S. Federal environment will be essential in mitigating risks and maintaining our client stakeholder trust.

Key Responsibilities:


1)


Data Privacy Management and Threat Monitoring:


  • Lead the development of privacy and data protection strategies, ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and other pertinent data privacy laws
  • Utilize business knowledge in combination with practice skills to monitor, detect, identify, analyze, evaluate, report and assist in the response of data privacy and protection
  • Stay up-to-date with privacy regulations, including but not limited to CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, UCPA, and other relevant laws and guidelines
  • Manage, monitor, and investigate violations and improper data disclosures of Protected Health Information.
  • Document and report data breaches to the appropriate corporate officers and entities, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies.
  • Implement, manage, and monitor HIPAA privacy standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data privacy and protection programs
  • Continuously monitor and assess data privacy risks
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and gap analyses
  • Design and implement data privacy controls and safeguards

Data Privacy Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain and update Process Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) response templates as needed upon approval
  • Analyze monthly communication preferences’ updates and trends
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices related to data privacy and provide recommendations for adjustments to our practices and policies
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including policies, procedures, and records of compliance activities, to demonstrate our commitment to privacy compliance
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments on existing applications, new applications and enhancements
  • Review and update risk assessments as warranted on how applications, collect, process, and protect personal data
  • Maintain the Privacy Risk Register
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Stakeholder Engagement:


· Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. · Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals and outcomes. · Provide training and support to end-users on new privacy policies and processes.

  • Ability and desire to challenge and educate yourself to support and advance IT services delivery in the Federal agencies we serve.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Actively respond to team member and client requests via email, MS teams, or other communication means during core business hours (9am-5pm EST)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in acting in a data privacy role

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification
  • Experience in a similar role within a government or healthcare organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FISMA, FedRAMP)
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
