Harbor is seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Billing Clerk to join our growing team.  The AR Billing Clerk plays a key role in the execution of daily collections and billing responsibilities for the Harbor. Harbor is a rapidly growing, professional services firm that provides services to law firms and corporate law departments and has operations primarily in the USA, Canada and the UK. This role will report to the AR Billing Supervisor and assist with billings and collections of all of the acquired entities globally. This is a 3-month position that is located in Canada and is fully remote.  

Responsibilities:


  • Determine appropriate rates to use on client and/or matter setup to ensure they are consistent with SOWs or engagement letters
  • Ensure accurate and timely set up and maintenance of client/matter rates and budgets in both the accounting system and 3rd party e-billing platforms, as well as special fee arrangements in a Rates Database
  • Liaise with clients on rate submissions through 3rd party e-billing platforms and resolve outstanding issues regarding same
  • Implement Client Rate Renewals
  • Apply approved changes to timekeeper rates throughout the year
  • Liaise with Pricing and Legal Project Management team to obtain new rates and client/matter agreements and ensure submission is completed prior to deadline
  • Expert in rates management structures in Aderant that supports the billing process and provides guidance to the Billing and e-Billing team
  • Respond to routine questions and provide information regarding rates and special fee arrangements
  • Maintain and update training documentation and recordings pertinent to administration of billing rate and special fee arrangements
  • Communicate and interact effectively with peers, management, external vendors, and contacts at all levels of the organization
  • Participates in department projects as assigned

Qualifications:


  • 1 + years of collection experience or accounts receivable experience
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel Skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Ability to take initiative and work proactively
  • Ability to negotiate in tactful and diplomatic manner using superior oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Netsuite is preferred
  • Deadline and performance driven
  • Detail oriented, efficient and accurate
