About the Role:


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Operations Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and IT operations, with a focus on continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automation. As a Senior Operations Engineer at Squadle by Crunchtime, you will play a key role in enhancing our development processes and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.  The candidate must have Google Cloud Platform experience and ideally would also have Azure platform experience.

What you’ll do as a Senior Operations Engineer: 


  • Collaborate: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline our software development lifecycle, from code commit to deployment.
  • Automate: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of applications.
  • Monitor: Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure.
  • Optimize: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in applications and infrastructure, continuously improving system reliability and efficiency.
  • Security: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards in all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for development and production environments, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Innovate: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, bringing new ideas and tools to improve our processes and systems.

What we’re looking for:


  • Experience: Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of software development and system administration.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Javascript, Bash), experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), and familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Cloud Expertise: Hands-on and in-depth experience with Google Cloud Platform, including infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).  Ideally we would also like them to have "Azure" experience.  This is because Squadle's sister company BrandMate uses Azure platform and would benefit greatly from having someone to help them with their platform maintenance. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: A proactive and adaptable mindset, eager to learn new technologies and continuously improve processes.

Nice to have: 


  • Programming Skills: Knowledge of Javascript/Typescript
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Professional DevOps Engineer).
  • Database Knowledge: Experience with database management and optimization (e.g., Couchdb, Firebase Realtime Database, BigQuery, MySQL).
  • Configuration Management: Familiarity with configuration management tools.
  • Networking: Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including experience with network troubleshooting.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
