team at VGS manages relationships with an extensive network of global channel, product, and payments partners. The team is instrumental in shaping the product development, sales / channel and distribution strategy for VGS around the world. Our partners include global card networks, global cloud providers, risk/fraud partners, digital wallets (Big Tech), payment processors, Big Tech eCommerce platforms, our VC investors, and more. The Strategic Partnerships Manager will be responsible for managing strategic enablers/resellers of VGS solutions and supporting leaders for global payments partners and channel partners.

The role requires an experienced business development professional who can identify potential deals, develop the tactics and manage across the cross-functional teams needed to bring them to fruition.  The Partnerships team works closely with Product, Legal, Marketing, and Strategy teams to execute partnership agreements and deliverables that are typically highly complex, strategic, and cross-functional in nature.You will be directly responsible to develop a deep understanding of each partner’s industry & use cases and tailor growth strategies for each, to encourage mutual partnership and improved business outcome.

What you will be doing at VGS...


  • Manage a book of business / portfolio consisting of approximately 20 accounts.
  • Develop and execute customized account strategy, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for select strategic partner accounts.
  • Jointly lead the account and relationship management and sales plan for the account, ensuring that the client’s business objectives are met.
  • Lead the development, negotiation and signing of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders, including Legal, Marketing, Product, Strategy, and Technology, and building relationships with strategic partner executives.
  • Drive immediate onboarding activities such as integrations and training for new partners by working closely with VGS implementation teams.
  • Own and nurture relationships with our larger partners, which includes, but is not limited to: increasing adoption/utilization, ensuring retention, working collaboratively to expand revenue, and monitoring satisfaction.
  • Establish a partnership with customers in order to build Account Plans, defining critical goals, or other key performance indicators and aid in achieving their goals.
  • Establish a trusted/strategic advisor relationship with each assigned customer and drive continued value of our solution and services.
  • Represent the voice of the customer across the organization to inform our sales process and product roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities for customers to be brand champions and advocates, build testimonials, case studies, etc.
  • Assist in workshops to help customers leverage the full value of VGS solution.

What we are looking for from you (Requirements)...


  • Minimum 3+ years of customer-facing experience, mainly as a Product / Strategic Partnerships, Management Consultant, Business Development, Startup Enterprise Sales, etc. (Preferably in prior fintech or payments industry roles).
  • An understanding and strategic curiosity for payments products and partnerships.
  • Grit/tenacity to overcome partner challenges in ambiguous environments and a willingness to learn and ask strategic questions.
  • Experience growing an existing account base, comfortable with pitching new products and negotiating.
  • Prior experience increasing satisfaction, driving adoption, retention, and revenue expansions.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-divisional, multi-geographical customers.
  • Experience driving process improvement and building new processes in a startup environment.
  • Strong leadership, organization, project management, presentation skills, and a bias for action.
  • A high degree of empathy, impressive executive presence, and communication abilities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, Engineering and more. 
  • Out of the box thinker that thrives in a fast paced startup environment.
  • BA/BS or higher education above is preferred.

$110,000 - $140,000 a yearThe above compensation reflects base salary only and does not take bonuses and other VGS benefits into consideration.
