You join Sporttrade if you want to contribute to an unparalleled product, collaborate with creative and driven co-workers and have fun in the process!The PositionSporttrade is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer who has advanced knowledge of both cloud and on-premise technologies. Initially reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this candidate will be paramount in designing, building, and deploying secure networking solutions to allow Sporttrade to operate in a low-latency and high-availability environment.Duties 

  • Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure both in the cloud (AWS and GCP) and on-premise to meet the organization's requirements for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Configure and manage Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, routes, Site-to-Site VPNs and network policies to ensure efficient network traffic management and isolation.

  • Configure and manage on-premise switch and firewall objects, such as VLANs, ACLs, policies, and routes. Bonus points if you have working knowledge in Arista, Cisco, or Fortigate technologies.

  • Design and implement network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, and identity and access management (IAM) policies, to protect GCP/AWS resources from unauthorized access and cyber threats.

  • Manage and deploy cloud-based networking infrastructure utilizing infrastructure-as-code (IaC), such as terraform or pulumi.

  • Configure and troubleshoot networking capabilities on Linux-based operating systems using systemd.

  • Aid in the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of kubernetes objects such as Deployments and Replicasets.

  • Participate in flexible on-call rotations.

Your portfolio 

  • Proven experience configuring and maintaining cloud-based networking solutions such as VPCs, VPNs, subnets, and routes with IaC.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, and MPLS.
  • Hands-on experience with on-premise networking hardware, such as Arista, Cisco, and Fortigate. 
  • Working knowledge with IaC tools such as terraform and ansible

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub actions

  • Extensive experience with Linux systems administration.

  • Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for automation and system management.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bonus points for hands-on kubernetes experience.

  • Bonus points for experience working with Postgres or other SQL database engines.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Employment is contingent on candidate’s ability to undergo, pass and maintain required registration(s) as mandated by state gaming regulations
