Responsibilities:
The Finance Associate will handle a diverse range of responsibilities and assignments in support of new deal acquisitions, financial operations, and support of our portfolio companies. Activities include a variety of analytic and project activities required in the chaos of new deal transactions and post deal finance/accounting support. The role requires an agile candidate with positive energy excited by a deal environment. The candidate must be a highly motivated, self-starting, and have a range of experience and skills.
See specific responsibilities below:
Assist in supporting the M&A deal process including Financial Due Diligence, Deal Modeling, Project Management and creating Management Presentations
Create LBO, 3 statement model, 13-week cashflow statement as part of Financial Diligence process
Assist in executing HCI monthly closing activities and preparation of various monthly and quarterly reporting schedules including financial information, key metrics, and variance analysis
Manage loan diligence and field exams in portfolio companies
Support HCI CFO in Portfolio Risk surveillance and Portfolio Companies CFOs in special projects as needed
Prepare transaction-related documentation and marketing materials including confidential information memoranda, pitch books, teasers, and management presentations
Prepare and manage virtual data rooms and coordinate with Deal related parties

Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting with 3-6 years in an accounting/ finance role
Superior quantitative and analytical skills, including deal modeling and analysis
Superior organizational and time management skills and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to travel as needed (20%)
Although HCI will give strong preference to candidates with the foregoing qualifications, we will consider highly-qualified Senior Analyst candidates with fewer than 3+ years of relevant work experience
