About the Role:


Faropoint is a cutting-edge real estate investment manager leveraging data and machine learning to become a leader in its field. After developing initial software tools and research models, we are looking for a leading data engineer to join our growing R&D Department and take on the construction and operation of a database and complex data pipelines.

Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures that support data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis
  • Understand the organization's data requirements and design systems to meet those needs efficiently
  • Construct relational database containing multiple tables.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for existing sources to automate the movement and transformation of data within the organization's infrastructure
  • Identify bottlenecks, tuning queries, and optimize resource utilization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Become a subject matter expert on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering

Qualifications:


  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of Python or Java development experience
  • 4+ years of database management (whether in SQL or in other systems)
  • 4+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems
  • Experience working with either a Map Reduce or an MPP system on any size/scale
  • Data Engineering Certification – a plus
  • Independence and proactive approach to problems
  • High proficiency in English (written/oral)
