Itential is looking for an entrepreneurial Accounting Manager to support our fast-paced Atlanta-based SaaS technology company. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for managing accounting operations and leading an accounting team to efficiently and accurately report financial information.

After initially rolling up your sleeves to process transactions and understand the business, you will be the face of the accounting operation, working onsite to learn directly from the CEO, and you will have exposure to the Executive Leadership Team and all levels of employees within the company. You will work closely with the Controller, who ran a strong accounting operation with clean audits, and is now moving into a governance role, and with the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to assist with investor reporting needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including A/R and A/P.
- Lead monthly close, keeping monthly close checklist up to date and providing status updates to management, to deliver reports by business day 10.
- Lead accelerated quarterly close, delivering preliminary revenue, cash, and EBITDA figures to FP&A by business day 3 for investor reporting.
- Review revenue schedules prepared by the Revenue Accountant, applying GAAP, ASC 606, Percentage of Completion, etc. and ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained.
- Reconcile all other balance sheet accounts and investigate reconciling items.
- Perform departmental-level P&L trend analyses to identify accruals and maintain consistency in categorization of expenses.
- Review and reconcile intercompany transactions for our subsidiary in the UK and consolidate financial information.
- Partner with FP&A and RevOps to accurately calculate and record bonus and commissions accruals.
- Partner with HR to allocate benefits expenses and reconcile accrued benefits accounts.
- Review work performed by interns, including posting bills and expense transactions to the G/L.
- Partner with HR to drive compliance with policies surrounding employee expense reporting.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA license or CPA exam parts passed (actively continuing to pursue license)
- Candidates local to Atlanta
- Software industry experience (2+ years) and ability to illustrate understanding of revenue recognition, risks, etc.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting or 2+ years in a CPA firm setting, with at 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
- Inquisitive and has ongoing commitment to learning and growth
- Proactively and willingly adapts to changing business needs
