Position Summary
The Survey Research Specialist (SRS-I) will contribute to and support the work of projects for a variety of government, business, and non-profit organizations. The SRS-I will assist the Survey Director with project management activities, data collection activities, and conducting research and evaluation across a broad range of topics. The ideal SRS-I will demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, an understanding of project and operations management, and an ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support survey research projects throughout their lifecycle, including research design, data collection, and analysis
- Assist the Survey Director with administrative and project management activities, including milestone tracking and drafting meeting agendas and minutes
- Develop project training materials and reference documents
- Train data collection staff on survey instruments and procedures
- Support the design and development of data collection tools or resources
- Assist with drafting reports, presentations, and other client deliverables
- Perform quality assurance tasks, including testing IT systems
- Assist with other tasks, as needed
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams, including working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented
- Understanding of basic data collection and analytic methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science or liberal arts discipline, with exposure to social science research and evaluation functions
- At least one year of professional experience in the field of survey research, or relevant course work
