Senior Integration Engineer
REMOTEAbout the Role: As a Senior Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping MDR customers implement our technology into their IT environments. Your expertise will be essential in improving our current set of technologies to ensure top-notch technical service for our customers. You will also be a point of contact for other teams or stakeholders needing support for health and monitoring related issues and customer issue escalations, and you will serve as an escalation point for other Integration Engineers.
To succeed in this position, you must have a customer-service mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deploy existing technologies into developed applications.Responsibilities:
- Remotely implement field devices, including physical and virtual devices running Pondurance software
- Assist customers with the implementation of EDR tools on their endpoints
- Assist customers with the ingest of system and application log data
- Troubleshoot issues with network and log collector devices as they are implemented
- Create and update configurations for network sensors, log collectors, and endpoint solutions installed in customer infrastructure
- Create and maintain documentation related to implementing devices and EDR tools
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the existing set of technologies within the scope of the role
- Partner with customers during implementation calls, working sessions, and email support to implement our technology
- Provide timely, effective updates and communication related to ongoing work to internal teams and external customers
- Identify opportunities for improvement and automation
Technologies: Experience with our specific technologies is helpful but not necessary. Having experience in the same broad categories of technology plus comfort and skill in picking up new technologies is far more important. Our environment currently includes:
- An MDR environment including internally developed applications, a LogScale cluster, and various tools for data analysis and visualization
- Atlassian product suite including; Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, and OpsGenie
- Network sensors leveraging technologies to generate high-fidelity information to support identifying suspicious activities and network forensics
- Log gathering and parsing technologies
- Kafka clusters and sinks that support Data Science and Detection Engineering
- AWS infrastructure and tools including Lambda functions, S3 buckets, retention policies, EC2 instances
- Hashicorp tools for infrastructure management/deployment (Vault, Nomad, Consul, Terraform)
- Deployment to Linux-based instances running container-based microservices, both on customer’s networks and in cloud computing environments
- DataDog or other industry system observability experience is a must.
- Intermediate Linux Experience: Must be Unix/Linux CLI proficient
- Intermediate Windows Experience: Logging / Log Analysis / Log Alerting
- Cloud application logs/monitoring: Familiarity with the big 3 (AWS, Azure, GCP) and O365 is a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in troubleshooting & implementing operating systems, virtualization, containers, software, hardware, appliances, and networks.
- Experience following documented procedures and updating documentation as procedures change
- Strong understanding of cyber threats, attack methodologies, and vulnerability assessment.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical Thinking: Break down the fundamental components of a problem or situation, examine the relationship between them, verify all pertinent facts, and draw an appropriate conclusion.
- Applied Technical Thinking: Able to apply specialized, theoretical knowledge to efficient operational uses.
