In this role you will:
A Database Administrator at Actabl focuses on the needs of the Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing changes to the source systems at the direction of the Data Engineering team’s needs as well as Development and IT.
Typical Functions:
- Monitor and maintain: Performance of database systems resources and query throughput, Database storage resources, and Database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragmentation, and database statistics
- Manage and maintain: Transactional replication system, SQL Server Availability groups, and Database documentation as required
- Implementing changes to the source systems to assist Change Tracking for Data Engineering team’s ETL processes, including new/modified fields, inserts, updates, and deletes.
- Maintain and administer database security access
- Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity issues
- Optimize SQL code as necessary
- Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues
- Proactively monitor and respond to MS-SQL database alerts
- On-call requirements in rotation to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations
RequirementsAt least 3 years of experience in:
- Database administrator in Microsoft SQL Server environment
- Microsoft SQL Server Availability Groups
- Transactional Replication
- Transact SQL
- Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
- Monitoring & Diagnostic tools
- Working with Windows server, including Active Directory and disk configurations
Experience that is a plus:
- Microsoft Azure
- MySQL
- Snowflake
- Data Warehousing
- ETL/ELT
- Windows Failover Clustering
- PowerShell
- Cloud migrations
