The Payroll and Tax Manager oversees the day-to-day management of payroll operations, including ownership of core payroll processes and procedures, management of the payroll and payroll tax operations, delivering and monitoring service level commitments, and appropriate delegation of day-to-day work requests. This role ensures data integrity, confidentiality and process flow to ensure efficient and effective payroll operations.RequirementsWhat You Will Do:• Lead a team of Payroll Specialist that are primarily responsible for processing and administration of payroll, time and attendance, and serve as a front-line resource for inquiries from HR team members, associates, retirees, and external organizations.• Responsible for on-time and accurate exempt and non-exempt payroll processing for various payroll frequencies, locations, throughout the United States in compliance with federal, state and local laws• Resolving tax issues, set up taxes in different states, process payroll garnishments and other payroll withholdings while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation.• Ensure the company has accurate data by taking pride to enter associate data into the HR system for initial setup, employment-related changes, maintaining data validity through conducting system audits.• Ensure our employees get paid for their hard work in supporting our company by assisting in payroll processing, ensuring it is accurate and keeping their complete data in the system• Build relationships and offer your support to assist associates with performing functions within their self-service accounts• Take Pride to Maintain accurate and consistent associate and other related HR files• Ensure peoples information is correct: Tracking attendance, updating associates and supervisors of potential issues• Support all aspects of PTO process.• Be a team player that is all in by performing all aspects of payroll and assisting in other areas when asked or you see a need.• Maintain the confidentiality of all payroll records in accordance with federal and state laws.Here’s a taste of the benefits we offer:• Medical• Dental• Vision• FSA• 401K• Short Term Disability• Long Term Disability• Life Insurance• Accidental Death and Dismemberment • Accident Insurance• Critical Illness• Hospital Indemnity• Employee Assistance (EAP)• Paid Holidays• Paid time offQualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience• Thorough understanding of payroll laws and payroll tax laws• 5+ in Payroll Administration and leadership role• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Proven skills in VLookUp and Pivot Tables• Payroll/Industry certifications preferred• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes in multi-state.• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
