Position Summary


The Survey Research Specialist (SRS-II) will contribute to and support the work of projects for a variety of government, business, and non-profit organizations. The SRS-II will assist the Survey Director with project management activities, data collection activities, and conducting research and evaluation across a broad range of topics. The ideal SRS-II will demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, an understanding of project and operations management, and an ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Support survey research projects throughout their lifecycle, including research design, data collection, and analysis 

  • Assist the Survey Director with administrative and project management activities, including milestone tracking and drafting meeting agendas and minutes 

  • Develop project training materials and reference documents
  • Train data collection staff on survey instruments and procedures
  • Support proposal writing, including literature review and other proposal development tasks 
  • Support the design and development of data collection tools or resources
  • Draft reports, presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Perform quality assurance tasks, including testing IT systems 
  • Assist with other tasks, as needed

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science or liberal arts discipline, with exposure to social science research and evaluation functions

  • At least four years of professional experience in the field of survey research
  • Understanding of basic data collection and analytic methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, including working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently 

  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
