Position Summary:
As the Associate Merchandise Allocation Manager within our Inventory Management and Logistics Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient allocation of inventory across our distribution network. Reporting directly to the Director of Merchandise Allocation & Decoration, you’ll lead a team of allocators responsible for maintaining order accuracy in our inventory management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Omnichannel Allocation Expertise:
- Lead the Wholesale Allocation team to meet and exceed forecasted order fulfillment across all channels of Wholesale business (including subchannel orders like Licensed, Events, Decoration, EDI, etc.)
- Leverage strong foundational knowledge of routing and warehouse operations to efficiently fulfill customer orders.
- Oversee and manage the Store Allocation processes to meet demand forecasts, sales trends, and historical data, ensuring seamless inventory flow.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor the allocation team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising, and Customer Support teams to align allocation strategies with product demand.
- Performance Tracking and Efficiency Building:
- Partner with the Director of Merchandise & Allocation to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) within the department.
- Analyze company-wide allocation practices and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- ERP Expertise:
- Strong foundational knowledge and expertise with ERP systems.
- While not mandatory, familiarity with Blue Cherry—an ERP system for fashion and apparel—would be advantageous.
- Ensure order accuracy within the Blue Cherry inventory management system by enforcing best practices.
- Audits and System Management:
- Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify discrepancies in inventory allocation.
- Collaborate closely with the IT department to address any system-related issues affecting inventory allocation.
Skills and Experience:
- Inventory Management: Proven experience in inventory management, with a deep understanding of allocation processes across various channels.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- ERP Systems: Proficiency in using ERP systems; familiarity with Blue Cherry ERP is a plus.
- Omnichannel Expertise: Experience in omnichannel allocation, including managing subchannel orders such as Licensed, Events, Decoration, and EDI.
- Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Merchandising, and Customer Support.
- Performance Tracking: Experience in establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct audits and rectify discrepancies in inventory allocation.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and maintain system integrity.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
