Job Summary:


The Senior Audit Associate is responsible for providing audit and/or advisory services to federal government agencies, departments, or organizations to ensure compliance with federal regulations, financial reporting accuracy, and the effectiveness of internal controls. Works as part of a team to gather evidence, perform testing, and provide recommendations for improving financial and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Independently performs major segments of client engagements, including audit procedures such as substantive testing, compliance testing, and analytical procedures to verify financial statements and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to, providing analytical expertise using highly developed skills in support of various tasks and offering solutions to technical or managerial problems.
  • Skill in compiling, analyzing, and translating critical logistics operations risk, particularly in business cycles Plan to Stock, Order to Cash, and Excess to Disposal is required.
  • Directs and instructs the work of junior professionals, reviewing completed work, and directing revisions if necessary.
  • Determines decisions on routine client matters with the assistance of the managers and partners. 
  • Assesses detailed audit documentation, including workpapers, findings, and conclusions, in compliance with professional standards.
  • Delivers clear and concise audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and compliance status.
  • Maintains awareness of changes in federal regulations, audit standards, and industry best practices to expand expertise.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary audit team.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of audit experience, including experience specifically related to conducting a financial statement and operational audit and/or advisory services for preparation of financial or operational audits.
  • Experience in audits specific to the Department of Defense is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and auditing standards.
  • Experience with DoD Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) and/or Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC) frameworks. 
  • Experience in OMB Circulars A-123 is required.
  • Must have and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in using audit software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possesses the organizational, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
