Lumina Corps is growing, and seeking a project leader to helm high-profile projects with the National Cancer Institute. As a Communications Project Director at Lumina Corps, you will play a crucial role in growing and leading our health communications team as you support public health and science communications programs.
What you’ll do:
- Lead one or more contracts, responsible for budgeting, forecasting and tracking costs, and ensuring all contractual requirements are met, which may include communications and promotion, program support and event logistics.
- Responsible for successful communications project execution including ensuring all deliverables are of high quality.
- Develop communications plans and products aligned with client goals and objectives.
- Act as direct client liaison on assigned projects. Develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues by leading with a customer-focused, collaborative approach.
- Expertly communicate research findings and recommendations to clients verbally and in writing.
- Guide internal team members in strategic planning and communications strategies.
- Develop work plans and timelines, creates deliverables and coordinates the work of other team contributors and specialists
- Manage assignments and workflow and oversees quality control for meeting and communications tasks and projects.
- Supervise and coach team members, fostering professional growth and building an inclusive culture that emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Act as an advisor and subject matter expert offering counsel to clients from a knowledge base of the best practices for public health and science strategic communications.
Qualifications
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including strategists, writers, designers, digital professionals, and vendors.
- Client Relations Skills: Experience working directly with clients, managing budgets and offering strategic counsel.
- Expertise: Experience in all aspects of health communications work, from formative research to execution and evaluation.
- Professional Qualities: Excellent attention to detail, multitasking, prioritizing, and independent working abilities.
- Mindset: A positive, solutions-oriented attitude, adaptable to various tasks.
Education and Experience
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, health education, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive strategic communications and account management experience. Experience with federal public health programs and agencies. Experience leading projects and team members.
