We’re looking for an experienced, strategy-minded Content Director/Writer to support the work of a large pharmaceutical and healthcare client as the lead content writer and strategist.
As our ideal candidate, you'll be a confident, marketing-minded content writer, which means you can strategize, write, edit, and present solid web and digital campaign content that hits our pharmaceutical clients' marketing and business goals, no matter the channel. In collaboration with our creative team and the client’s team, you will create content for tactics such as websites, display/banner ads, emails, slide presentations, Source of Authority content, social media content, and more.While content strategy and writing are at the core of this role, our ideal candidate will have experience working closely and collaboratively with creative directors, designers, and digital strategists. Responsibilities As a Content Director/Writer, your responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:Content Development
- Create new and evolve existing healthcare professional/patient/consumer communication copy independently and in partnership with other team members and our client.
- Develop copy according to project brief requirements.
- Translate complex medical and scientific information into clear, concise, and accessible language for diverse audiences.
- Ensure that creative concepts are strategically on target and that copy meets client standards of creative excellence.
- Quality check documents for agreement between in-text information and the source data, as well as for internal consistency.
- Consultation for grammar/tone, editing, and writing for A/B testing.
- Consolidate client feedback and make strong, rationale-driven creative copy recommendations.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
- Stay up-to-date on pharmaceutical industry regulations and guidelines to ensure all copy meets compliance standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs and legal teams to obtain approvals for promotional materials.
- Recognize and address important details with accuracy and efficiency.
Research
- Conduct thorough research on pharmaceutical products, therapeutic areas, and target audiences to inform and enhance copy development.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, medical professionals, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information.
Brand Voice and Messaging
- Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice for each pharmaceutical client, ensuring alignment with their values and objectives.
- Craft messaging that differentiates our clients' products in the market and resonates with the intended audience.
- Quality check documents for agreement between in-text information and the source data as well as for internal consistency.
- Embrace and follow brand creative criteria.
Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketing strategists, and account managers, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to marketing campaigns.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing insights and expertise on copy-related matters.
- Receive feedback from multiple stakeholders with a positive, collaborative approach, and offer new ideas/strategies that effectively address that feedback.
What you’ll need
- Exceptional digital content writing and editing skills, with a keen attention to detail
- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry or in related service industry (e.g., healthcare advertising, PR, medical communications agency)
- Proven track record of creating successful and compliant pharmaceutical marketing materials
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including FDA guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (e.g., ability to clearly articulate rationale for content writing/strategy decisions)
- Demonstrated success in producing healthcare agency-quality creative copy solutions that leverage customer insights, effectively deliver on project requirements and align to overall brand strategy
- Communicates effectively (in writing and verbally) with internal customers, team members, and supplier partners
- Demonstrated ability to understand a wide variety of therapeutic areas (e.g., diabetes, oncology, and immunology)
- Proven ability to tailor existing

- Demonstrated experience working for or with medical sources of authority such as Medscape and Epocrates to develop copy for medical resources
- Experience and participation in agile-based projects
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and/or other content management systems
