Your Role:
Career & Internship Programs (CIP) is a rapidly developing, innovation-driven department at CEA CAPA Education Abroad. The CIP portfolio currently includes two experiential program types: Global Internships and Global Business Consulting; and it is developing two additional program types in Community-Based Global Learning and Undergraduate Research. The Career Development & Internship Specialist plays a critical role on the CIP team by collaborating cross-functionally with CEA CAPA US-based and global colleagues across multiple departments to best prepare CIP students for their upcoming CIP program during the pre-departure phase.
The Specialist will be assigned their own portfolio of CIP locations, for which they will prepare CIP students heading to these locations prior to their program start. The primary responsibilities of the Specialist are to set clear expectations for students, hold students accountable to stated steps and deadlines in the pre-departure phase for their chosen CIP program, and provide advanced career coaching to students with a demonstrated need to best set them up for success. The ideal candidate will have experience career coaching U.S. students, performing administrative tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional departments in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent must have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and be willing to work within a small, fun, and dynamic team. This position involves collaborating with many cross-departmental colleagues and providing high quality support to external stakeholders including students, parents & families, and U.S. institutions. A successful candidate must be an effective communicator (written and oral) and have a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds.
What You’ll Do:

- Collaborate with CEA CAPA colleagues in CIP and Enrollment & Advising to facilitate a frictionless student experience for CIP students during the pre-departure phase, by guiding students through the CIP placement process, setting clear expectations, and holding students accountable to required action items by stated deadlines.
- Assist CIP and Enrollment & Advising teams with administrative tasks that support CIP students’ engagement in the application, coaching, and interview stages of the pre-departure process; including supporting document collection, initial advising about CIP program options, and data entry and analysis.
- Provide advanced NACE-certified career coaching, such as on resume & cover letter writing and interviewing skills, to CIP students who exhibit a demonstrated need for advanced coaching in assigned locations during the pre-departure phase to best set them up for success and increase their placeability.
- Expertly prepare students for the rigor of their chosen CIP, and when appropriate, retain and redirect them to another CEA CAPA program that is more appropriately aligned to their knowledge, skills, experience, interests, expectations, and goals to ensure best program fit.
- Consistently log all CIP student interactions and detailed case notes about students’ progress completing pre-departure tasks in Salesforce (CRM) for accurate reporting and visibility.
- Establish a consistent communication pipeline with in-country Career & Internship Programs staff in assigned CIP locations to cultivate a seamless pre-departure student experience.
- Assist in facilitating virtual mock interviews for students taking the Global Internship Course during the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.
- Assist CIP Leadership, as needed, in helping to further develop the CIP portfolio and embed career readiness components across all phases of the CEA CAPA student journey (before, during, and after programs) for every CEA CAPA program type.
- Occasionally assist the Institutional Relations team, as needed, in traveling to U.S. institutional partners to support study abroad fairs, info sessions, career workshops, and presentations to study abroad and career services staff.
- Collaborate with other CEA CAPA departments such as Marketing, Institutional Relations, and Custom Programs to support students in the pipeline, future programming, and cross-functional projects and initiatives that support CIP and organizational goals.
- Assist with CEA CAPA emergency phone duties, as required.
Starting Salary: $50,000

- Bachelor’s degree

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS): Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred qualifications
- At least 1 year experience career coaching undergraduate students
- Experience studying, living, and/or working multiculturally
- Proficiency using CRM (Customer Relations Management) databases, Salesforce preferred.
