Protolabs Network provides engineers and designers access to more than 250 extensively vetted manufacturing partners. As part of Protolabs’ global services, we specialize in on-demand 3D printing, CNC machining, injection molding and sheet metal fabrication. Trusted by some of the most innovative companies in the world (NASA, HP, Audi and more), we are the world’s fastest and most comprehensive digital manufacturing solution. Some of the parts we’ve produced are even floating in space!We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Manager, and in this role you will play a critical role in strategically planning and managing the local network development for our platform.
This position involves supervising sourcing, selection, and qualification of suppliers, developing strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring supplier satisfaction, and driving supplier performance. You are responsible for expanding capabilities, securing production capacity, and implementing best practices to ensure process consistency across the network.This role will be focused on CNC and having experience in a CNC manufacturing role is highly preferred!Sound good? What you'll do:
- Manufacturing Partner Management: Scout for, evaluate, and onboard new manufacturing partners integrating them smoothly into our network
- Relationship Building: Establish strong partnerships with new Manufacturing Partners, creating opportunities for mutual growth. Maintain and strengthen relationships with current partners to ensure satisfaction and growth
- Capability Development: Discover, hone, and put into practice new capabilities, including novel materials and post-processing techniques
- Performance Monitoring: Actively supervise and elevate manufacturing partners performance, with an accent on on time and non conformance rates
- Supplier Development: Identify and promulgate manufacturing best practices to assure procedural uniformity throughout the network
- Industry Knowledge and Networking: Accumulate knowledge and cultivate networks within the CNC machining
- Engagement Initiatives: Design and implement initiatives that invigorate Manufacturing Partners' participation while upholding lofty benchmarks for production as a service
What it takes :
- Great organization and excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer literacy, with the ability to learn quickly
- Self starter and ability to take responsibility
- An ownership mindset - you stick with an issue until it’s solved
- A people person with a knack for problem-solving
- Open to feedback; works well in a multidisciplinary team and keen to learn from others
- A background in engineering
- Familiar with CNC machining technologies (Sheet Metal or Injection Molding would be nice to have)
- Knowledge of Polish language will be a plus
