Responsibilities:
- Manage self-performed industrial construction, industrial service, and industrial general contracting projects.
- Understand and relay customer's expectations for the scope of work, safety, timing, and quality to Estimators, Department Managers, Safety Representatives, and other internal groups.
- Develop & oversee project planning, scheduling, logistics, engineering, budget and safety plans and procedures as required by the project.
- Develop accurate WBS based on project scope.
- Use Microsoft Project to develop & monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and analytics.
- Develop detailed proposals as necessary for change orders.
- Review submitted job tickets from Department Managers and Estimators to verify accuracy of time, materials, quality of workmanship, and productivity of field crews.
- Manage self-perform and subcontractors scope coordination with field supervision.
- Assist with estimating (budgets and change request/field order quotations).
- Ensure that all internal crews and sub-contracted crews are scheduled and on-time.
- Organize and conduct on-site line-ups, kick-off meetings, and ad-hoc meetings.
- Protects the interest and legal rights of the Company during project execution via thorough documentation and timely communication with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal parties.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls and contact the appropriate department to schedule and dispatch crews.
- Request, review, analyze, qualify, and select subcontractor quotes.
- Forecast and verifies the costs, revenue, and gross profit of given projects at least monthly to accurately portray the expected financial outcome to key stakeholders.
- Monitors project cash flow to achieve a consistently positive bottom line via an appropriate schedule of values, maximized monthly billing, and timely payment collections.
- Complete and submit building permits as needed.
- Assess project risk and develop response strategies.
- Assess & maintain project changes & scope control.
Requirements:
- 5 or more years of industrial and/or commercial contracting project management experience
- Experience managing a variety of trade disciplines including but not limited to electrical, pipefitting, rigging, foundations, structural steel, machine repair, HVAC, carpentry, and controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent industry experience
- Able to conceptualize multi-trade projects with or without engineered prints, schematics, and drawings.
- Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Project
- Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to travel occasionally and work on-call.
