Qualifications:
- 2-3 years’ of experience with mechanical/diesel/gas ground support equipment maintenance.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Certification of Completion/License in one of the following trades (a plus):
- Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Commercial Mechanic
- Automotive Mechanic
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and show competence in preventive maintenance per established schedules on all ground support equipment.
- Learn trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of ground support equipment as required.
- Learn repairs and procedures to maintain all ground support equipment.
- Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure GSE is not returned to service until malfunction has been properly diagnosed and repaired.
- Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, etc. required for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal and SP requirements.
- Operate and drive all types of equipment – motorized and non-motorized.
- Comply with all federal, provincial, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements.
- Follow all safety guidelines set by OSHA, EPA, and FAA and Management.
- Keep GSE Shop and its equipment clean and serviceable at all times.
- Report any and all deficiencies to management.
- Communicate with Ramp Management, Customers and Staff in a professional manner when needed.
Abilities and Skills:
- Attention to detail is imperative.
- Must be able to multi-task.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as walk extended distances.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and/service stands.
- Subject to continual loud noises.
- Must have normal corrected hearing and vision.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles.
