The Payroll and HR Analyst is a key member of the HR team, working closely with the Director of HR Operations, SVP of HR, and finance team leadership. The Analyst will collaborate on processing semi-monthly multi-state payroll, develop improved analytics reporting within HR, participate in compensation administration, and work on special projects as assigned. The Analyst must be an experienced payroll professional who is process-minded, analytically inclined, and good with numbers. This role extends beyond payroll with responsibilities in compensation administration and HR data reporting. This is a NYC-based position in a hybrid work environment.

- Payroll Processing: Collaboratively process semi-monthly multi-state payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Maintain accurate payroll records and handle discrepancies promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and errors in payroll data and documents. Recommend and implement streamlined procedures to enhance payroll processes.
- Compliance: Assist with 401(k) Non-discrimination annual testing, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Compensation Administration: Support HR leadership in planning and administering employee compensation programs.
- HR Analytics and Reporting: Serve as the main point of contact for HR analytics and reporting, providing insights to drive data-informed decisions.
- Special Projects: Contribute to various special projects as assigned, bringing your expertise and innovative ideas to the table.
The skills and experience you bring to the job:
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated payroll experience, with a strong understanding of multi-state payroll taxes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Paycor HR/Payroll. Experience with other payroll systems and the selection/implementation of new payroll systems is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, detail-oriented, and able to identify and solve issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail. Strong time management skills, able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and good judgment.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing a positive experience for all stakeholders.
- Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets.
