These include applications in both our Oil & Gas and Industrial divisions, as well as new markets such as solar energy. The Technician will work at CARBO’s Houston Technology Center.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
· Independently de-bug, repair and maintain testing or processing equipment as well as verify that testing equipment reliably collects accurate and precise data.· Assist in testing for the support of research and development of new products, continuing operations, and sales.· Alter existing equipment and build simple new equipment to better meet processing or testing needs in support of research and development of new products.· Train others in maintenance, de-bugging, and repair of testing or processing equipment.· Maintain facilities and coordinate maintenance/repairs by external entities.· Routinely perform housekeeping, and inventory control.· With little direction or supervision, perform other related duties and/or special projects as required.· Adhere to all safety standards and practices, consistent with corporate safety policy.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
· High School Diploma. Associate’s degree, or Technical Certification preferred.· Advanced knowledge of relevant technology, tools, and equipment.· General PC knowledge and troubleshooting.· Minimum of five (5) years of experience maintaining and repairing equipment (at work or elsewhere).· Minimum of two (2) years of laboratory experience or a combination of lab experience and problem solving (at work or elsewhere).· Good communications skills, interpersonal skills, and proven attention to detail.· Ability to read equipment manuals and program controllers and PLC’s to operate equipment correctly.· Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems for a range of processing equipment and/or simple testing equipment and to then repair the equipment.· Basic math skills.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.· Dedication to completing projects according to priority and timeline.This job description should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities or as an employment agreement between the employer and the employee.
