Position Summary: The Field Crew Lead is responsible for supervising all work-related activities and serving as the on-site leader. They oversee handling all job site paperwork and ensuring its completion. The Field Crew Lead diligently follows all standard operating procedures while performing their duties.  Key Roles / Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure accurate Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are conducted.
  • Ensure that all crew members wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report all near misses, incidents, and first aid incidents, bringing them to the attention of management.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow any procedural changes as directed by the quality group.
  • Manage inventory of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure the truck is loaded and prepared before leaving the location.
  • Maintain a clean job site that meets customer expectations before departing each site.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of crew vehicles and equipment.
  • Train new crew members.
  • Evaluate the performance of each crew member and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ensure completion of all required documentation in the job packet.
  • Complete pre-checks and paperwork and may also serve as a location driver.
  • Work alongside crew members as needed in Prep or Poly Crew, including the preparation of secondary containments.
  • Utilize mathematical formulas to square off and mark post locations.
  • Operate a skid steer with an auger attachment to drill post holes.
  • Insert and level posts using leveling equipment.
  • Set posts using concrete and dirt.
  • Install galvanized metal wall sections.
  • Install geotextile fabric and/or pre-sprayed composite liners.
  • Apply Polyurea liner using our branded application techniques.
  • Perform quality control checks on the complete containment system.
  • Work inside oil tanks and supervise the sand blast crew and operations.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of industry related work experience
  • Required to use hand tools and proper maintenance of small equipment.
  • Current Driver’s License Required
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL within three (3) months of hire.
  • Mechanical knowledge on medium duty engines, compressors, and generators is a plus.
  • Construction and/or Coating experience is a plus.
  • Will be required to use hand tools and proper maintenance of small equipment.
  • Oil and gas experience is a plus.
  • Must be 21 or older to drive for AssetGuard

Working Conditions:

  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.

  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.

  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
