Summary of the Role:


Responsible for planning and coordinating all activities relating to the distribution of finished goods through the factory in line with Company Procedures and according to the daily schedule, to ensure goods arrive safely and without damage to their respective destinations. Additionally, the successful candidate will manage and support the daily workload for our Packers and generate shipping documentation and as necessary will pick and pack customer orders in line with Company Procedures.

Essential Functions/Duties:


  • Plans, coordinates and supports the distribution of finished goods through the company by supporting the Shipping Clerk.
  • Assists with generating packing lists and certification to assist packing floor.
  • Generates and collates the shipping documentation to accompany goods in transit to facilitate expedient customs clearance.
  • Ensures correct freight charges are processed on shipments and applied in IFS.
  • Books the collection of goods and generates shipping labels and documents in accordance with export guidance procedures.
  • Assists with scanning of the shipping documents to ensure orders are available for timely invoicing.
  • Assist with training of new starters and cross training of existing team.
  • Responsible for picking parts in accordance with the Customer Consignment requirements.
  • Packaging to be complete in accordance with Industry Recommended Standards.
  • Loading of customer orders and consolidations from transport vehicles. Unloading packaging supplies and supporting Goods-In when required.
  • Operate the Crosscut Saw in a safe manner as necessary following the posted training and safety guide.
  • At all times work in accordance with all Company Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards. Conduct inspection of product to ensure obvious defects are identified and escalated as necessary.
  • Champion 5S principles and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and good housekeeping at all times.
  • Proactively engage in supporting the Company’s Performance Management System in place, working towards the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the training and development of work colleagues as may be required.
  • Respond to change positively and productively.
  • Work additional hours as may be required to ensure the requirements of the position are fulfilled.
  • Keep abreast of changes to Company Policies and Procedures ensuring the same are adhered to and met.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:


  • Experience with a computerised dispatch records system will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills; written oral and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Have a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Good team worker.
  • Confidence in dealing with both internal and external customers and 3rd
  • Basic Knowledge of shipping internationally and associated compliance requirements.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Product knowledge an advantage.
  • Ability to cross-train colleagues on all functions and to identify areas where this is required.
