Kimco is seeking an IT Network Engineer to play a pivotal role in the heart of Kimco’s technological operations. This dynamic position encompasses the design, implementation, and proactive maintenance of our expansive network and infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep-rooted understanding of network hardware and protocols, coupled with a proven track record in network security, data backup, and disaster recovery strategies. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation and security of our company’s digital backbone.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Network Design & Deployment: Architect and roll out efficient network configurations across LAN, WLAN, and WAN, ensuring robust connectivity and collaboration.
- Network Configuration & Installation: Configure and install a variety of routers, switches, firewalls, wi-fi access points, and other pivotal network devices and systems, optimizing our technological landscape.
- Data Protection: Develop and maintain robust data protection systems and strategies to allow for data recovery as necessary.
- IoT Monitoring and Administration: Monitor IoT networks at various sites and communicate with 3rd party resources to ensure optimal operation, minimize downtime, and maintain security on a variety of devices.
- Office Technology Implementation: Design and implement technology packages for Kimco offices including structured cabling, conference rooms, user workspaces, and security.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and integrity, employing advanced tools to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
- Issue Resolution: Expertly address and resolve complex problems escalated by support tiers, covering both cloud-based and local infrastructure issues.
- Automation & Efficiency: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks, continuously evaluating their effectiveness to enhance productivity.
- Technical Mentorship: Serve as a technical mentor to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Security Management: Devise, manage, and rigorously test security protocols, including access authentication and comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
- Stakeholder Communication: Engage with users and stakeholders to address their technical concerns, ensuring clarity and satisfaction.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous technical documentation, providing a reliable reference for system configurations and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement enhancements to network performance, capacity, and scalability, driving technological advancement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus 5 years’ relevant work experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, System Engineer, or similar role.
- Experience with Aruba and Juniper.
- Experience with Fortinet NGFWs.
- Experience with Zscaler, Microsoft Azure networking (virtual networks, firewall, VWANs), HPE/Dell servers and storage solutions a plus.
- Experience with various IoT technologies, including Axis security cameras, Milestone NVRs, Brivo access control, digital signage, etc. a plus.
- Relevant Professional certifications a plus.
- Solid background in network administration and architecture.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Sharp troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Organizational and team mentoring skills.
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000.
