Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Aerodynamics Engineer. In this position, your primary focus continues will be on delivering aerodynamic performance to the race car through analysis of CFD, wind tunnel and track data, and by innovating throughout the design and development process. The ideal candidate will utilize engineering knowledge and experience to prepare for, execute, and report on aerodynamic testing, including but is not limited to, wind tunnel, track and CFD testing. The ideal candidate in this role is outgoing, creative, and well-spoken with at least 3 years of experience in the automotive or motorsports industry and possess a strong, but diverse, problem-solving skillset.

Essential Functions:
- Design tests for both full and reduced scale models.
- Support development, enhancements and deployment of new analytical methods and processes related to vehicle aerodynamic development
- Effective management and delivery of your own projects through the design, CFD and wind tunnel test process, according to deadlines and specified requirements.
- Creating your own CAD geometries, submitting CFD cases, and defining and implementing wind tunnel tests
- Prepare high quality CAD models for CFD, wind tunnel and race car.
- Liaise with the vehicle design team to ensure that race car packaging and layout considerations are respected.
- Provides guidance and support for technicians and fabricators to assemble and prepare a car for testing.
- Provides engineering support and information by answering questions that other departments and areas may have.
- Take ownership of CAD model quality and methodology, working with the team to continually improve our processes in design, manufacturing, and in the wind tunnel.
- Contribute to collaborative discussions and efforts to improve the entire design process.
- Responsible for improving car performance through body specification definition.
- Build your understanding of aerodynamic structures and behaviors around the car. Contribute to collaborative discussions, offering ideas and taking on feedback from others.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school): Required
Experience: 3 plus years of automotive or motorsports experience: Required
Computer Skills:
Moderate level Microsoft Office is expected in this role. CAD experience is required.
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel on short notice is required for this position. A flexible schedule is required for this position.
