WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Unified Communications (UC) Engineer position is responsible for the engineering, testing, and integration of UCaaS technologies into SageNet’s service provider network. The position transitions new revenue generating customer requirements from architectural design and implementation to the operational teams responsible for day-to-day support.They will have a strong background in UCaaS systems engineering, IP networks, integration, and troubleshooting. In addition, the UC Engineer shall demonstrate understanding of call flow, auto attendant design/configuration/deployment, number management, PBX emulation, e911 and common voice platform practices is desired.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Support SageNet customer voice platform
- Design, implement, and test UCaaS solutions to meet customer requirements
- Leverage relationships with vendor sales engineers and technical support center staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Provide feedback regarding vendor performance and technology readiness to upper management
- Collaborate with Product Line Management, Network Engineering and Operations technical teams to author scope documents, technical assessments, and detailed functional specifications for new products and services
- Train and mentor deployment, service activation and support team members
- Assist in the creation of procedures, configurations, and standards
- Develop internal documentation for use by implementation and support non-technical resources
- Escalation resource for technical support teams to resolve production problems when needed
- Create routing with ISP Carriers
- Communications Media Entertainment integration
- SIP Trunking configuration
- Work with a geographically dispersed team, and support customers on-site as well as in other locations in support of desktop and laptop systems, including break/fix, operation system and application loading, configuration, user settings and desktop administration duties
WHO YOU ARE
Key Qualifications
- 2-5 years design and implementation of VoIP or UC solutions in corporate enterprise, WAN and call center environments
- VoIP and SIP implementation
- Interfacing with UC and SIP service providers
- SBC design and configuration
- Network design and routing protocols to include IVR and auto attendant
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
- CCNP Voice or other professional level VoIP/Collaboration certification preferred
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
- This position will report to an office and will be part of a larger team atmosphere, consisting of 2 mandatory “all-in” days, 1 variable day, and 2 virtual days. The hybrid work environment is applied per position/department and may be subject to change based on policy updates.
- For the right candidate, this position is open to remote work arrangements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Standard daytime working hours, with the ability to respond to support escalations as needed outside regular working hours, including nights and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time without problem
- Occasionally to lift/carry 20 lbs.
- Extensive use of fingers and hands for typing
- Extensive use of eyes to be able to analyze documents electronically and physically for long periods of time
