Your Role:
CEA CAPA seeks applicants for an entry level opportunity within the rewarding field of US study abroad. As a Program and Student Services Assistant the successful candidate will support the Program and Student Services Team (PASS Team), to deliver world-class educational experiences to US college and university students from our study centre located in South Kensington, London. The PASS team has responsibility for developing and delivering all custom programming, student activities and cultural inclusions.
They are also frontline support for students, managing welfare concerns, conflict resolution and crisis management. This exciting, fast-paced and dynamic workplace offers no two days the same. Therefore, the duties listed below are not extensive, employees will be responsible for and assigned additional ad hoc duties as required.
What You’ll Do:
- Support with student arrivals, check-ins and orientations.
- Help keep all digital calendars up to date
- Attend and run student events and activities. (These may take place in the evenings or at weekends).
- Proactively engage with students to help them make the most of their experience.
- Support the PASS Team, with research, booking and submitting purchase orders for program materials, activities, inclusions and transportation.
- Manage the London Student Services email inbox.
- Support the admin team with weekly shifts at the reception desk. Tasks include answering telephones, ensuring students and visitors feel welcome and fielding any queries they might have.
- Create and distribute student pre- and post-arrival communications with approval from Assistant Director of Program and Student Services.
- Produce and manage information to be displayed on noticeboards throughout the London centre, e.g. posters, digital screen displays, etc.
- Support the delivery of online pre-departure orientations.
- Annually review SOP’s (Standards of Practice), updating and improving them where necessary.
- Assist faculty with classroom equipment, photocopying or other queries as needed.
- Take minutes/complete reports for student advisory meetings.
- Research new student activities, program inclusions and potential venues.
- Assist and support the Program and Student Services team with unforeseen tasks.
- The key is to be flexible, enthusiastic, and ready to take on anything!
Starting Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
What Makes a Great Candidate:
- You must have the established right to work in the UK. We cannot consider candidates who do not have this so please be clear in your cover letter that you already have this right to work.
- Excellent customer services skills and a strong interest in and ability to work with people, particularly university students.
- Flexibility with hours and days of work to accommodate program components, this will be compensated for with time off in lieu.
- Ability to think on your feet and manage the unexpected, particularly when supporting student activities.
- A high level of thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency in your work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software and a familiarity with databases.
- Highly computer literate – experience with Salesforce, Canva, Excel and PowerPoint would be beneficial.
- A good knowledge of London, and a passion for showcasing the best of the city.
Hours:
Full time. Standard hours are 9:00 AM to 17:30 PM, Monday to Friday, but some shift work is occasionally required. This role is based in our London study center near Glouster Road Tube Station. Due to the work's nature, more time beyond regular office hours will be expected in this role.
