Who We Want:

We want a Lock Desk Analyst who supports the Director of Capital Markets for the sale of residential mortgages into the Secondary Market and assists with managing Homeowners pipeline loans while in process. The Lock Desk Analyst is a resource to Licensed Mortgage Professionals (LMPs) regarding loan products or pricing questions. 
Essential Duties:

  • This position is in-office Monday - Thursday at our Corporate Scottsdale, AZ location with Friday's being remote from home
  • Reviews and approves all new rate lock commitments from LMPs within posted time frame
  • Executes all rate locks, extensions, and loan changes accurately and in a timely manner
  • Registers/locks loans with specific investors as new locks require, per program when necessary, as a Best Effort Lock
  • Executes investor extensions when necessary to ensure coverage of lock through the purchase of loan
  • Performs data entry and maintains data integrity of investor registration/lock information into corporate Loan Origination System (LOS) for the Best Effort investor locks, including loan type, loan amount, rate, term, pricing and Investor name so the loan is closed, priced, and delivered correctly
  • Manages and updates LOS upon Investor extensions with new delivery expiration date and any fees incurred
  • Applies proper pricing adjustments to LOS per Pricing Exception request from LMPs
  • Coordinates any necessary extension periods needed between post closers and investors to ensure delivery by expiration date
  • Communicates and interacts with the Operations staff and LMPs daily
  • Coordinates rate lock pricing, modifications, renegotiations and confirmations with remote LMPs via phone, email and in person
  • Acts as a resource for LMPs regarding product research and pricing issues
  • Works with the Accounting Department to reconcile loans, ensuring the correct fees, rate, and any adjustments are charged, and final pricing is accurate on final purchase advice
  • Prepares pipeline reports as needed to ensure accurate mortgage data is complete for Best Effort Locks, and the Hedged Loans are flagged
  • Supports underwriting and processing staff with loan programs and pricing questions
  • Processes Early Payoff/Early Payment Default invoices
  • Closes out Brokered loans that come in from LMPs
  • Reviews and manages UW Certifications expiration dates on Bond program portals
  • Runs reports and cancels adverse loan locks
  • Assists the Director of Capital Markets with verifying trades and allocating traded loans in LOS
  • Updates procedure and investor logins when needed
  • Participates in Homeowners internal meetings and required trainings
  • Maintains a professional image and demonstrates an understanding of and follows all Homeowners Policies and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

RequirementsQualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant mortgage industry experience required
  • 2 years of Lock Desk or Secondary Market experience preferred, including technical knowledge of pricing strategies and models relating to mortgages and hedging
  • Proficient PC skills to include Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial data
  • Experience with Encompass/Optimal Blue/DU/LP and major origination systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of mortgage origination process, FNMA, FHA, VA, RD, and SAFE ACT guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills to internal and external customers
  • Ability to develop positive relationships
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to implement written procedures
  • Independent, self-starting, team player with a positive attitude

Working Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job may require handling objects up to 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally. While performing the duties described herein, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel in addition to talking and hearing. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
