Job Summary:


The Property Accountant is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate financial reporting of an assigned group of Senior Property Accountants.  The Property Accountant will build a knowledge base around the property accounting function, eventually being able to handle full scale property accounting for a subset of properties and with an opportunity to develop into a Senior Accountant.  A positive attitude and desire to learn is an absolute must!

This position is located in our corporate office in Buckhead. This is not a remote position. 


Description of Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the preparation and entry of monthly operating expense accruals.
  • Aid in the preparation of monthly account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve all payables related to assigned properties.
  • Perform ad-hoc research to assist other members of the Property Accounting team.
  • Prepare monthly fixed asset roll forwards and coordinate with fixed asset team.
  • Gain hands-on experience with the Yardi accounting system, assisting with journal entries and running reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Work with Treasury on the creation and posting of wire/ACH payments.
  • Company level accounting responsibilities:
  • Further develop an understanding of GAAP accounting.
  • Build knowledge base around the property management function and begin to form relationships with on-site Property Managers.
  • Maintain flexibility and willingness to take on ad-hoc projects as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
