Major Duties


  • Developing project plans
  • Establishing milestones and deadlines
  • Forecasting budgets and tracking costs
  • Leading teams toward shared goals
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation
  • Managing changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Effective Communication skills - a must
  • Creative Problem-Solving skills - a must
  • Defining project scopes, planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management
  • Act as liaison between operations, engineering, and management for improvement projects, new machine implementations, and process evaluations.
  • Document, understand, and improve complex machining and manufacturing processes to eliminate waste.
  • Identify and implement machining strategies, tools, and fixtures to reduce cycle time, setup time, and scrap.
  • Document tooling assemblies, fixtures, and tool crib items for management in tool crib.
  • Create standard work procedures for manufacturing processes.
  • Provide financial justification for capital projects and project plans for implementation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, including brazing, heat treatment, grinding, turning, and milling operations.
  • Program 5 axis CNC machines and multi-spindle lathes.
  • Act as technical expert in machining practices, programming practices, and cutting tool knowledge.
  • Implement improvement initiatives and create positive momentum for change.
  • Analyze data to determine focus areas and areas of improvement.
  • Assist in training.

Required Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience


  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in CNC machining / manufacturing (8+ years if no degree in related field)
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
  • Quality systems experience including documentation, inspection, and corrective actions.
  • Perishable tooling and MRO vending machine management.
  • Grinding, Turning, 3 axis, 4 axis, and 5 axis milling.
  • SolidWorks
  • Mastercam
