Major Duties

- Defining project scopes, planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management
- Act as liaison between operations, engineering, and management for improvement projects, new machine implementations, and process evaluations.
- Document, understand, and improve complex machining and manufacturing processes to eliminate waste.
- Identify and implement machining strategies, tools, and fixtures to reduce cycle time, setup time, and scrap.
- Document tooling assemblies, fixtures, and tool crib items for management in tool crib.
- Create standard work procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Provide financial justification for capital projects and project plans for implementation.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, including brazing, heat treatment, grinding, turning, and milling operations.
- Program 5 axis CNC machines and multi-spindle lathes.
- Act as technical expert in machining practices, programming practices, and cutting tool knowledge.
- Implement improvement initiatives and create positive momentum for change.
- Analyze data to determine focus areas and areas of improvement.
- Assist in training.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in CNC machining / manufacturing (8+ years if no degree in related field)
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
- Quality systems experience including documentation, inspection, and corrective actions.
- Perishable tooling and MRO vending machine management.
- Grinding, Turning, 3 axis, 4 axis, and 5 axis milling.
- SolidWorks
- Mastercam
