Location: Dallas or Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan AreaThe RoleTuneIn is seeking a thoughtful, thorough and team-oriented Show Producer to play a pivotal role in TuneIn’s success and growth of original programming for Big 12 Radio. The Show Producer supports various aspects of Big 12 Radio and all projects related to the daily sports talk shows, which entail approximately 3-4 hours of original programming Monday through Saturday mornings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: producer for daily Big 12 sports talk shows working with show hosts & analysts on the daily production of the shows.
This person is a highly organized individual with a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and collaborate with experience in producing a sports talk radio show. What you will do
- Producing the daily sports talk shows for Big 12 Radio
- Monday through Friday: 3-4 hour Big 12 sports talk show
- Saturday: 3-4 hour Big 12 pregame show (during the College Football season)
- Programming related to select College Basketball games and Conference Championship games
- Booking and managing Big 12 College coach and student athlete interviews, analysts and other guests on the shows.
- Show prep, including Big 12 related content, Big 12 Conference & Big 12 school content; writing and posting web and social media content.
- General admin for all station programming, managing talent and screening listener calls
- Producing the replays of the weekday sports talk show
- Collaborating with Big 12 Radio host & station director and internal teams on any station sponsorship(s).
- Working closely with Big 12 Radio hosts & program director to develop relatable content, execute format, and deliver ratings goals.
- Monitor Big 12 sports news to stay current with the latest updates and stories across the College Sports world.
- This position will also have duties not related to the show assigned by the program director from time to time.
What we are looking for
- 3-5+ years in sports radio, with a minimum of 2 years of experience producing a sports talk radio show.
- Deep knowledge of Big 12 sports and the broader college sports world.
- Strong connections within the Big 12 schools and media world to book interviews and show guests.
- College graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with the following tools/systems is required: Google programs, Slack, Microsoft Office, MusicMaster and PlayoutOne (or similar automation)
- Experience with ProTools, Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere a plus.
- Experience in setting up and troubleshooting down issues with remote audio broadcast equipment and fixing them and the ability to explain the issues to one of our engineers.
- Audio editing and production experience is a plus.
- Experience in social media content and publishing
- Excellent internal and external communication skills
- Can handle the fast paced nature of day to day producing of a radio show
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive, can-do work style
- Ability to work early mornings and weekends
- Ability to travel to Big 12 Media Day events and other important Big 12 events as needed (domestic travel estimated to be 4-6 times per season, subject to change).
- Experience in music or broadcast scheduling and curation a plus
