Account Director, Sales - Japan

About The Role (What you will get to do)
As an Account Director for Carbon Accounting Platform Sales, you will be responsible for providing solutions tailored to the sustainability and environmental management needs of enterprises. You will achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction through acquiring new clients and maintaining and expanding existing client relationships.
Responsibilities (What we expect)
- Pipeline and revenue target management : Develop sales leads and opportunities consistently, proactively drive sales stage progression of sales cycle, and close deals to meet individual quarterly sales target.
- New Client Acquisition: Research and target potential clients, conduct sales activities, create and deliver presentations.
- Existing Client Maintenance and Expansion: Propose solutions based on client needs, negotiate contract renewals, and sell additional products and services.
- Sales Strategy Development and Execution: Conduct market and competitor analysis, develop and execute sales plans.
Qualifications (What you bring to the role)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in business, environmental science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in carbon accounting or sustainability are a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of carbon accounting and sustainability.
- Sales Experience: Extensive experience in B2B sales (5+ years), preferably in selling software or technology products.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, persuasive presentation skills, strong negotiation abilities.
- Analytical Skills: Experience in market analysis and data-driven decision-making.
- Leadership and ownership: Ability to effectively manage and motivate internal team and external audiences.
- Proactive and Self-Motivated: Ability to identify issues and take initiative to solve them.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to change and handle various situations with flexibility.
- Team Player: Commitment to contributing to the success of the entire team.
How You'll Know You’re on the Right Track
- Within your first month, you will be able to articulate how Persefoni incorporates carbon accounting standards and sustainability reporting frameworks in its solutions.
- Within your first two months, you will be able to demonstrate the Persefoni platform and bring together the appropriate Persefoni resources in customer facing meetings.
- Within your first two months, you will be proficient in internal systems and processes to appropriately track and report on relevant sales activities and customer information.
- Within your first 3 months, you will create a go-to-market plan with the global solutions (sales and customer success) team to achieve revenue quotas for the Japan market.
- Within your first year, you will have met at least two consecutive quarterly revenue quotas and created a qualified pipeline that shows the opportunity to meet the next four quarterly revenue targets.
Job Type:
Full-time. Individual Contributor. Based in Tokyo. Hybrid: Expected to be in the office Mondays and Wednesdays.
