PotlatchDeltic Land and Lumber is currently seeking candidates for the Kiln Forklift Operator position. This position is responsible for the provision of lumber for the kiln and storage of lumber once the drying process is complete using a large forklift.  They also ensure water is moving away from the kiln area properly and help maintain the kiln area.  This position may also fill in for the operators unloading the Stacker and stacking lumber in the Green Yard in preparation for drying. Successful candidates must be safety-minded and willing to promote and participate in safety on the job.


The hourly rate of pay for this position is $23.01.


Working Conditions:


  • Damp, wet, humid, slick surfaces
  • Extreme heat/cold (weather and non-weather related)
  • Exposure to high noise levels requiring ear production (manufacturing plant, outdoor heavy equipment)
  • Working near moving machinery
  • Fumes or airborne debris
  • Whole-body vibration (vibration through the seat or under the feet)

Essential Physical Functions:


  • Sitting
  • Standing
  • Walking on concrete and uneven surfaces
  • Kneeling
  • Squatting
  • Bending
  • Climbing the ladder to the forklift
  • Ability to communicate clearly

  • Lift 50 lbs.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work any shift (Days, Nights, Graveyard or Weekends)
  • Prior lumber mill experiences preferred.
  • Prior forklift/machine operations training preferred.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, hard worker
  • Must be a safety-oriented individual.
  • NCRC Certification preferred.
