A "Day in the Life" of the Human Resources Business Partner
As a Human Resources Business Partner, each day begins with creating and implementing workforce planning and succession strategies and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You'll navigate sensitive employee relations issues, providing coaching to managers as needed, and develop HR strategies, including designing performance management frameworks and spearheading employee engagement initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders. Legal compliance updates are rigorously reviewed, and you'll conduct training sessions for managers on effective performance feedback techniques.
Your adaptability and strong prioritization skills are essential for managing the varied demands of this dynamic role effectively.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership teams to assess organizational needs and deliver strategic HR solutions.
- Develop a deep understanding of team dynamics and needs to facilitate effective problem-solving and decision-making.
- Monitor employee sentiment, driving initiatives to enhance engagement and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Coach and develop people leaders and individuals to strengthen leadership capabilities and resolve employee issues.
- Act as the primary resource for employee inquiries on policies, procedures, benefits, and more.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements in managing employees, ensuring compliance and conducting thorough investigations when necessary.
- Ensure operational and administrative activities adhere to global standards.
- Manage & lead internal communications with stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in.
- Assist with onboarding new staff, particularly leadership, and acquainting them with the company practices, culture, and business.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to optimize processes and build initiatives to support the maturing of our people programs and HR function.
- Demonstrated ability to drive HR initiatives, adapt to changes and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Nurture, protect, and scale our values, culture, and focus on diversity and inclusion through guidance on strategic & tactical HR initiatives.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- BS/BA in related field or PHR preferred
- 5+ years experience in Human Resources (at least 4 years prior HR Business Partner experience)
- 4+ years advising leadership and managing complex employee relations issues
- Ability to align the organizational vision, mission and values to HR strategies and programs
- Strong expertise across multiple HR disciplines including organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, performance acceleration, talent development, compensation, diversity and inclusion, and local employment laws.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate flexibly across all seniority levels, functions, and communication styles. Proven track record of effectively coaching leadership and resolving sensitive employee issues.
- Unquestionable sense of integrity, impeccable judgment and have mastered the ability to balance the needs of the company, managers, team members, and practical HR compliance.
- Well-developed project management skills, ability to juggle competing priorities, and attention to detail.
- Savvy problem solver, with a positive, innovative mindset, and a find a way to get it done‚ mentality.
