St. Maries Complex is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, goal driven and team-oriented Certified Millwright for its Plywood operations. This position will be responsible for safely installing, maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems, components of machinery and equipment in a Plywood Industrial mill setting (i.e. conveyor systems, production machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and packaging equipment). The Plywood mill is a three-shift operation.
The hourly rate for this position is $31.06-$36.62, depending on experience.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Performs all required hydraulic and pneumatic equipment maintenance.
  • Performs minor and major equipment repair (including, but not limited to: changing motors, replacing bearings, repairing and replacing chains and sprockets, replacing chain raceways and plastic wear strips, changing cylinders, changing belts).
  • Builds structures using a combination of metal and woodworking tools.
  • Repairs machine parts and builds new parts when necessary.
  • Replaces and repairs pipes and hoses in pneumatic, hydraulic and steam lines.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all equipment problems.
  • Makes necessary modifications to existing equipment and assists in designing new equipment.
  • Inspects machinery for necessary preventative maintenance. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance program in specific machine centers.
  • Maintains inventory in specific areas.
  • Selects and uses lubricants.
  • Installs and repairs drive components.
  • Selects and maintains bearings.
  • Utilizes computer for maintenance tracking, work scheduling, troubleshooting and completing reports.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Operates a forklift, man lift, and scissor lifts as needed.
  • Welds/cuts during maintenance, repair, fabrication and/or modification of equipment.
  • Operates a welding truck when needed.
  • Maintains the chip and hog fuel bins.
  • Assist the Electricians when needed.

Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of three years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility with a strong aptitude for preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Must be proficient in cutting, welding, hydraulics, industrial machinery installation, troubleshooting, blueprint reading and project fabrication.
  • Basic computer skills required (experience with preventative maintenance software preferred).
  • Current Journeyman license preferred.
  • Job will require physical activity such as lifting heavy items up to 50 lbs. (cannot have any lifting restrictions on file)
  • Job will require working a flexible schedule and hours as needed, such as working evenings, weekends and holidays on short notice.
