This role is based in our Redwood City, CA office and requires working onsite Mon-Fri.
Responsibilities:
- Own overall life-cycle of complex products. Be the expert in your product's mechanical design, specifications, hardware behaviors, systems/software integration, testing and validation
- Build and validate test systems, create and execute test plans, and troubleshoot issues
- Lead testing requirements development and validation testing for manufacturing releases
- Lead cross functional efforts to scope, develop, and deploy tools to assist in the efficient scaling up of end of line testing activities
- Contribute to Python scripting and code development to enable and automate test methods
- Collaborate closely with Carbon ME, EE, SW, Optics, Materials and other Systems Engineers through requirements analysis, design, and prototyping with a focus on assembly, integration and testing
- Create and maintain documentation to enable effective knowledge transfer to engineers and technicians
- Create and maintain WI’s, SOP’s and other relevant manufacturing documentation
- Train technicians and engineers (in-house and at CM sites) in new and existing test processes
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of work experience in fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environments
- Experience working at the intersection of hardware, software and systems for products with complex mechanical and electronics interdependencies
- Experience working on and solving problems related to complex mechatronic issues
- Experience scripting in Python and developing code that commands hardware and collects and analyzes data
- Demonstrated ability resolving production line down issues and non-conformances
- Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to use statistical tools in data analysis to solve complex problems
- Self driven engineer with a strong sense of responsibility, accountability and continuous improvement

Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with products containing assemblies related to UV lasers, high-end optics or complex fluid systems
- Experience with troubleshooting PCBA’s and creating PCBA functional testers
At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The pay range for this position is $115,200 to $172,800. Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role.
