Full-timeDescriptionWith minimal supervision, perform set up and machining of operations. 

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and router instructions
  • Setup and machine parts to blueprints and/or work instructions
  • Select appropriate tooling
  • Maintain and sharpen all tooling
  • Act as in process inspector where required
  • Cross train in other areas of machines shop
  • Generate Non-conforming Material Reports as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment 
  • Communicate issues to supervisor
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on grinding equipment
  • Observe safety guidelines and wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Train associate and senior level coworkers
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in repair process 
  • Identify necessary modifications to operator instruction sheets and communicate to Engineering
  • Monitor consumable supply levels and communicate shortages

Prioritize daily work within department Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools
  • Ability to maintain tolerances of .0005 inch.
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficient with hand tools
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in use of precision measuring tools
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience involving similar equipment, processes, measuring tools and machining operations.     CNC Lathe/Jig Bore a plus

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
