The Production Supervisor plays an integral role in the success of our food production facility in West Valley City, UT. As a Production Supervisor, you will lead specialized project teams simultaneously in creating ready-to-cook meals. Teams range in size from 3 to 20. You will help ensure the facility meets operational metrics for production, staffing, and financials working with other Production Supervisors and Managers. You will identify areas of success and improvement to improve and streamline our internal processes.

You will also coach and train staff on the production floor as needed to better execute and meet expectations. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.Our facility is new, clean, and efficient. As a Production Supervisor, you will spend most of your day on the production floor working alongside your teams, keeping them motivated, and paving the way for daily success. The production floor is refrigerated (~39 F) to ensure food safety. The nature of the work is very hands-on with no automation. Our manufacturing processes are people-driven, so interpersonal skills are a must.The schedule for this position is working five days per week with a Saturday rotation which results in working approximately two Saturdays per month. The facility currently has one shift, 6:00 am to approximately 4:00 pm.

Essential Functions


  • Lead and coordinate all resources on our production assembly lines
  • Monitor performance of machinery in collaboration with food production and engineering teams; communicate equipment malfunction to production managers
  • Maintain performance standards for all aspects of food production
  • Train, develop and coach production leads and employees
  • Ensure quality, safety and good manufacturing processes (GMPs) are followed
  • Comply with FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards
  • Identify and resolve employee, customer, and/or supplier concerns
  • Able to work off-shifts (weekend, holidays) as needed

Competencies


  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiar with and capable of demonstrating a strong understanding of HACCP or related food safety protocol
  • Comfortable with G-Suite and willing to learn new online tools and communication channels
  •  Self-starter with effective leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced work environment with a growing start-up company

Job Requirements


  • 2+ years of experience working in Food Production
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Must be able and willing to work in refrigerated environments 8 hours per day (~39⁰F)
  • Ability to kneel, reach, bend, and lift (up to 50 pounds) throughout the work day and to work on your feet for the entirety of the day
  • Food certifications and licenses are a plus
  • Spanish speaking skills are a plus
