Our ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated experience as a collaborative in-the-trenches leader who can sell a vision, write the brief, empower the teams they work with to do their best work, and roll up their sleeves when duty calls.
This role in non-exempt will report to the Director of Brand, Creative, and External Communications, partner closely with teams across the business, and manage a blend of contract resources and agency partners.For Workrise, success means revolutionizing the way the largest industry in the world works day-in, day-out. Beyond an exceptional eye for nuance in storytelling, copy, and design, successful candidates will bring the courage to take risks and challenge the status quo, and a hunger to deeply understand customer mindsets, as well as business and industry dynamics in a complex and rapidly evolving space.All applicants must submit a portfolio to be considered for this role.
What you’ll be doing:
Creative Execution:
- Research - gathering learnings from previous campaigns and initiatives; reading up on customer challenges, industry issues, and trends
- Building briefs, project plans, and proposing budgets
- Reviewing and guiding work across contractors and agency teams
- Packaging and shipping completed work
- Managing delivery against requests for day-today business needs (logo requests, business card requests, investor decks, etc)
Agency and Contractor Management:
- Sourcing and day-to-day management of the creative partners Workrise relies on to support creative execution
- Managing procurement, budgets, timelines, and invoicing for all partners, as well as payroll for hourly contractors
- Providing the resources, documentation, assets, and day-to-day guidance agency partners and contractors need to be successful
Stakeholder Management:
- Prioritization and expectation setting - ensuring we are working on the highest-impact work, are set up to deliver on-time and on-budget, and communicating when we can’t take something on
- Building alignment with stakeholders on problem definition, creative strategy, scoping, prioritization, and budget implications (where applicable)
- Running reviews, socializing work with relevant stakeholders to bring folks along
- Securing approvals
Brand Maintenance and Strategic Evolution:
- Maintaining internal resources like the Brand Center and our deck templates
- System maintenance - Optimization of existing solutions for incremental improvement; solving for new execution needs where we don’t have precedent, and new solutions are needed, in a manner that consistent with the brand as a whole
- Continued evolution - continually evolving what Workrise looks, sounds, and feels like, to re-enforce our brand strategy and improve our effectiveness wherever and whenever we show up in the world
Experience and Education Requirements:
- A well of experience in creative storytelling and building compelling brand narratives - you can direct the work, but also write the script if you have to
- A diverse portfolio of executions spanning integrated campaign work (OOH, CTV/TV, Social, Digital), as well as focused work in at least one of the following disciplines: brand systems, content design, illustration, or motion design
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish a shared creative vision within a team, manage creatives individually, and speak to the strategy and rationale behind the work in a manner that cross functional stakeholders can understand
- A deep commitment to creative excellence and innovation, always seeking to push the boundaries of what is possible, while delivering work that consistently outperforms benchmarks
- Proficiency with the tools of the trade: Figma, Adobe CS, Frame.io, etc.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a meticulous attention to detail and a focus on delivering superior results
- Experience building and managing to budgets
- Test-and-learn mentality - you can speak to not just coming up with the killer idea, but how to evaluate performance and optimize work once it is in market
- Growth mentality - you are a self starter, always looking for feedback and opportunities to hone your craft
- A high degree of comfort navigating ambiguity, and the willingness to adapt and flex as needs change
- Strong organizational, project management and interpersonal communication skills
Additional experience preferred, but not required:
- B2B brand experience (either as clients of an agency, or in-house)
- Experience building campaigns for companies operating in the energy industry, or other high-complexity spaces
- Strategy chops (brand, campaign, or both)
- Direct people management experience
- Strong network of creatives to draw on for project-based or contract work
