The primary focus of this position is to collaborate with team members to create high-quality, standards-based Math content for grades 6-8. A successful candidate will balance a high level of subject matter expertise with pedagogical understanding, diverse curriculum and assessment design experience, and effective communication skills. This is a temporary contract position, with employment specifically tied to the completion of a project developing intervention curricula and practice-based assessments.
The expected duration of the project is 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. This contract position requires approx. 35 hours/week during typical business hours.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Write, peer-review, and revise content for Edmentum’s programs based on pedagogical understanding and subject-matter expertise· Closely adhere to prototypes, guidelines, and quality processes. Participate in the development of these items as assigned.· Understand academic standards and standards elements to create standards-aligned material and evaluate the rigor of Edmentum’s curricular assets.· Participate in project and team meetings.· Follow common writing and copyediting conventions that reflect Edmentum style.· Additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE· Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or content-related field; master’s degree preferred· 3 years of experience in education· 2 years of experience in curriculum development or education technology· Strong subject-matter expertise in Math for grades 6-8.· In-depth understanding of digital learning and pedagogical practices· Exceptional writing, editing, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills· Careful attention to detail· Strong creative and critical-thinking skills· Excellent research, Internet, and technical skills· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills while maintaining quality· Growth mindset and ability to embrace change· Experience working on projects in a multi-faceted and fast-paced environment· Experience working with virtual teams· Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.) and ability to learn new applicationsEdmentum is an equal opportunity employer.
