We are a Remote First organization with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.The Virtual ASL Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where learners can fulfill their potential and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with District and state policies and laws.
The Virtual Teacher is a highly qualified instructional teacher responsible for the delivery of specified course content in an online, virtual environment. The applicant can be located anywhere within the US.
Here's what you'll do:
Acquaint students to their coursework and communicate course and school requirementsMaintain a full load of students in certified content areaEmploy synchronous and asynchronous tools to supplement course contentSupport the Academy’s Live Help programMaintain availability to students and parents between 8am and 5pm Monday- FridayConduct Live Lessons with students on essential learning topics for each course in content areaCreate Learning Resources to promote student learning for each course in content areaTrack student progress and help students stay on pace to complete class by class end dateConference with parents of struggling students by phone or onlineGrade student work and enter grades into an online grade book in a timely manner.Contribute to and complete student report cardsCommunicate with teachers, administrators, and parents as neededRespond to student messages and discussions in a timely manner within school guidelines
Here's what you'll need:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
ASL Teaching certification for K-12 required
Oregon and/or Arizona teaching certificate requiredThree years or more of classroom teaching experience with one year of online teaching experienceMeet highly qualified teacher requirementsStrong content and subject matter knowledgeStrong written and verbal communication skillsOrganization and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and other online toolsAbility to maintain a flexible scheduleEdmentum is an equal opportunity employer.
