Strategy Associate

LOCATION:
US - Remote
Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA with an office in New York, NY, Birdy Grey supports remote work for eligible roles. We ask that all employees travel to either office once a quarter. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Birdy Grey is looking for a resourceful Strategy Associate to help drive strategic initiatives and cross-functional execution. This role will:
- Work collaboratively with leadership to define, prioritize, and execute critical strategy projects
- Scope solutions and implement across teams
- Directly and quantifiably impact business decisions and performance
- Work with the strategy team to define and enable Birdy Grey’s strategic roadmap, with a focus on growth plans and new business categories
This associate is highly analytical and tackles problems in an organized, hypothesis and data-driven manner. This will be a very fast-paced role that requires excellent collaboration skills with team members at all levels.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Strategy leadership on strategy formulation and execution, working cross functionally with other departments (e.g., production, merchandising, marketing, finance, etc.)
- Partner with company leadership on strategic planning for the company, including developing strategy roadmap, setting targets (KPI’s), prioritizing among competing initiatives, and developing an operational execution plan with cross-functional partners
- Aggregate and analyze data from internal and external sources, develop hypothesis, define reporting, mine insights, and synthesize key takeaways to drive improvements across the company
- Conduct market and competitor research to understand our consumer, trends, and market sizing on an ongoing basis
- Monitor performance of the business by ensuring core KPIs are met and understanding the driving forces behind them
- Own the execution of key strategic initiatives (including new business categories)
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:
QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- EDUCATION: College degree required
- EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in management/strategy consulting firm or corporate strategy team
- Demonstrated track record of exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working cross-functionally supporting multiple verticals / teams (e.g., marketing, research, finance, operations)
- Strong analytics, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong ability to identify and prioritize the most impactful business issues
- Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and action plans
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task and handle several deadlines simultaneously
- Expert excel skills to analyze data and build complex dynamic models from scratch
- High degree of comfort with messy, complex data sets
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation and written)
- Hard working and willing to roll sleeves up - no job is too big or too small
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, fluid environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative to lead projects
