Picket is a venture-backed real estate innovation company. Built on proprietary technology and customer-first philosophy, our end-to-end SFR investment platform is transforming the experience of renting a home at every stage of the value chain - from the way investors find, buy, sell, and manage single-family rentals, to the quality, service, and flexibility residents enjoy when they live in them.
We’re seeking an exceptional startup tech leader / engineer to lead one or more of our five strategic platform areas. These are Picket Invest, our real estate investment application, Inertia, our brokerage / transaction management system, ManageOS, our proprietary property management system, Feng, our engine responsible for all money movement and tracking, and Service Hub, a marketplace of residential service providers. We are scaling to support every home in America on our platform. Technologies employed in our stack include Kotlin, Python, and NodeJS on the backend, ReactJS and Flutter on the frontend, and PostgresQL, Mongo, and Snowflake for data stores. You will work closely with and initially report to Picket CEO Q Shay.
Candidate Requirements
- Versatile technology background with a CS degree or equivalent, 10+ years of hands-on and team-leading tech delivery, including at least one high-performance scaled system.
- Depth in at least two core Picket technologies, and breadth across the modern spectrum.
- Can readily manage a geographically-dispersed team of engineers and still build hands-on.
- Sound project management fundamentals in broad contexts, with extreme attention to detail and outstanding communication in verbal, written, and video formats.
- Can identify and develop high-bar talent across different tech roles (developers, data, PMs, other leaders). Able to juggle multiple workflows and projects across the organization.
- Experience launching & owning consumer-facing tech products.
- Helpful: background in or passion for real estate.
