About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead our Membership Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge membership services that enhance user experience, drive engagement, and support our growth objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions that meet the needs of our diverse member base.
What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for membership services, aligning with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of membership-related features and functionalities.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of membership services.
- Collaborate with product management, UX/UI design, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years in Software Development with at least 5 years as a Software Engineering Manager.
- Proven experience in a senior software engineering leadership role, preferably within membership or subscription-based services.
- Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and design.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AuthZ/AuthN, OAuth 2.0, Kubernetes, Redis, Java or C#, SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Rust
- Experience with microservices architecture and API development.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Prescryptive is committed to fair pay practices. The projected annual salary for this position is $177k to $225k.
